The Australian Nut Industry Council (ANIC) is a federation of the seven commercial tree nut industries in Australia – almonds, macadamias, walnuts, pecans, pistachios, chestnuts and hazelnuts. It aims to strengthen, unify and promote the production, marketing and consumption of nuts within Australia and internationally. ANIC delivers efficiency to its members, providing support and removing duplication of effort, to the benefit of all.
ANIC was created in 1988 as a peak nut body through amalgamation of the Victorian Nut Growers Association and the NSW Nut Growers. The original members of ANIC were the grower associations of hazelnut, walnut, pistachio and chestnut. In the following years, the pecan, almond and macadamia industry associations joined.
